$320 Million US Pier for Gaza Aid Fails Disaster Unfolds

It was supposed to be a beacon of hope for Gaza, but the $320 million U.S.-built pier has turned into a disastrous failure. The United Nations (UN) reported that only a small amount of aid made it to Gaza through the pier, with just 10 truckloads reaching a warehouse on Friday and only five on Saturday. Shockingly, Palestinians intercepted and took 11 truckloads of aid on the way to the warehouse. This failure highlights the incompetence of the UN in ensuring proper security for aid distribution.

According to Israeli estimates, the terrorist organization Hamas has been siphoning off up to 60% of the aid meant for the people of Gaza. This revelation exposes the corruption and exploitation of humanitarian aid by Hamas for its own profit, amounting to at least $500 million since the conflict began.

The U.S. military, with the help of 1,000 soldiers and sailors, constructed the pier to facilitate aid delivery to Gaza. The issue lies not in the lack of aid at the pier but in the challenges of securely transporting it to the warehouses. Israel is cooperating in aiding the entry of humanitarian supplies through the pier, but Egypt’s refusal to work with Israeli authorities on aid distribution at the Rafah crossing is causing further delays.

Egypt’s reluctance to adhere to Israel’s security measures, aimed at preventing Hamas from obtaining weapons, is resulting in a standstill that is holding up tens of thousands of tons of aid. This impasse underscores the necessity of strict inspections to prevent terrorist organizations like Hamas from exploiting humanitarian assistance for their malevolent purposes.

This situation emphasizes the need for stronger oversight and security measures in aid distribution to ensure that help reaches those truly in need. The incompetence of the UN and the nefarious actions of Hamas demonstrate the challenges in providing humanitarian aid in conflict zones and the importance of accountability in aid delivery.
