Addressing the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Abbott declared that November 5 would be the day Americans hand Biden his pink slip and reinstate Trump as President. Abbott emphasized that restoring the rule of law involves more than just speeches. Since 2021, as border arrests surged under Biden’s watch, Texas didn’t sit idly by. Abbott mobilized over 10,000 state and local officers, along with National Guard troops, to shore up the state’s 1,250-mile border with Mexico. This ambitious operation has racked up billions in costs but has also resulted in significant achievements: over 512,000 arrests of illegal immigrants and the seizure of half a billion lethal doses of fentanyl, bypassing federal sluggishness.
Meanwhile, voices from the heartland echoed Abbott’s sentiments. Jim Chilton, an Arizona cattle rancher, detailed how his land has turned into a freeway for illegal immigrants, dampening any sympathy for the “asylum-seekers” narrative. His experience speaks volumes about the chaos inflicted on border communities under the current administration.
Darid Lara, an Arizona entrepreneur, painted a vivid picture of the local pandemonium. His description of emergency services swamped by the so-called asylum-seekers provided a stark snapshot of the crisis ignored by D.C. elites.
Tom Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, didn’t mince words on stage. Anticipating Trump’s re-election, he sent a clear message to those here illegally: the party’s over. Homan’s stance encapsulates the sentiment of many Americans fed up with the border mayhem.
What Abbott, Chilton, Lara, and Homan convey is that radical changes are necessary to safeguard America.
