In a victory for common sense and the rule of law, Justice Samuel Alito hit the brakes on a kooky appeals court ruling that would have allowed a Texas law aiming to keep illegal immigrants in check to kick in this weekend. The Biden bunch, ever the champions of chaos, begged the Supreme Court to block the law, squealing about potential bedlam in the immigration realm. Spare us the theatrics, folks!
The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals turned the tables on a lower court’s decision to stall the law, giving it the green light for the upcoming weekend unless the big shots at the Supreme Court swooped in. Alito swooped in like a superhero, tossing a temporary time-out on the Fifth Circuit’s call until March 13. Phew! Crisis averted, at least for now.

Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar rattled on about how this law would supposedly shake things up after 150 years of the same old routine. Blah, blah, blah. The feds and their pals across the border in Mexico might get their feathers ruffled, she claimed. But what about the Americans who have to deal with the consequences of unchecked illegal immigration? Don’t they count too?
The Department of Justice can’t seem to take a hint, throwing a fit over Texas’ SB 4 like a toddler denied their favorite toy. Governor Greg Abbott signed the law to push back against the flood of lawbreakers streaming across the border. Makes perfect sense to crack down on folks breaking the rules, right? But leave it to the lefties to turn everything into a political circus. Give us a break!
