Anti-ICE Mob Disrupts Worship Service, Don Lemon Joins the Chaos

On Sunday in St. Paul, a group of anti-ICE agitators crashed a worship service at Cities Church, chanting “ICE out” and terrorizing families who had gathered to pray. Former CNN anchor Don Lemon followed the group and livestreamed their movements, admitting on camera that he was with the organizers and knew they were planning an “operation.”

The mob’s target was not abstract policy but a house of worship and a pastor accused by protesters of working with federal immigration authorities, a grotesque escalation that crossed from protest into desecration. Video of the interruption shows frightened congregants and children being ushered out as the demonstrators raised their voices — a scene that should alarm every American who believes in religious liberty and the rule of law.

Faith leaders on the right were right to call this what it was: an illegal, politicized intrusion into sacred space that deserves swift federal attention. Senior figures, including Dr. Paul Chappell, demanded that the Department of Justice enforce the FACE Act and hold those responsible accountable rather than shrugging while the left weaponizes worship services for publicity.

Don Lemon’s defenders will bleat about “journalism,” but the tape tells a different story — not of an impartial reporter covering events, but of a media personality embedded with an activist operation and broadcasting the action live. Lemon himself described the plan as a surprise “operation” and later scrambled to claim neutrality; Americans are rightly skeptical when mainstream figures cross the line from reporting to active participation.

Let’s not lose the context: this ugly escalation flows from the larger chaos in Minneapolis after the January 7 killing tied to an ICE operation, which has inflamed passions and given leftist agitators an excuse to stage theatrics in public spaces. That outrage over a tragic shooting does not justify turning churches into stunt locations or allowing mobs to intimidate worshippers while the media cheers them on.

Hardworking Americans — people who get up, go to church, and respect their neighbors — should demand more than performative outrage and selective enforcement. We need the Justice Department to act, local authorities to protect houses of worship, and the media held to account for fanning flames instead of calming them. If our culture is to survive, conservatives must stand firm for law, order, and the sacred right to worship without fear.
