Antique Store Scam? Heirlooms Vanish, Owners Face Wrath of Cheated Elite

The owners of an Upper East Side antiques store, Sara’s Antiques, are making quite a stir with a string of unhappy customers and lawsuits. The clientele is up in arms, claiming that their precious belongings were either sold off without their consent, returned damaged, or simply vanished into thin air. Yikes! It seems like these customers are having a rough go of it.

The proprietors, Sayeh Sassouni Khorshad and her husband Vahid Peter Khorshad (who goes by Peter), are catching some serious heat with a total of six lawsuits filed against them. Some customers are even taking their grievances to the police and the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, hoping to get some justice for their valuable heirlooms. And as if that wasn’t enough, one fed-up client took matters into their own hands and created an online group to rally others with similar grievances. Talk about turning up the heat!

One displeased customer, Kimberly Taylor, claims she was promised a monthly payment for her collection of treasures, including diamond-encrusted bracelets worth a whopping $47,000. But alas, these bracelets are now nowhere to be found, along with an additional $100,000 worth of her belongings. What a bummer! It sounds like these owners have really dropped the ball when it comes to taking care of their clients’ valuable goods.

Now, the owners are singing a different tune, denying any fraudulent actions. Even their attorney is jumping in to defend them, stating that they did return many of the items but admitting that some are missing and damaged. It seems like they’ve got some serious explaining to do if they want to make things right with their irate customers.

But wait, there’s more! Another customer, Daniel Roubeni, created an online group seeking retribution for the sale of his mid-1800s Louis XIV table, which he estimates to be worth $50,000. He’s not the only one feeling the burn—Nancy Latin-Ryan claims she’s out a whopping $620,000 after consigning her goods and lending the company $200,000. Ouch!

And let’s not forget about the lady who consigned over $42,000 worth of heirlooms, only to be offered a measly $7,500 for her troubles. She’s not having it and has called in the authorities to investigate. It seems like these owners are in some seriously hot water.

It’s not looking good for the owners of Sara’s Antiques. With angry customers coming out of the woodwork, claiming their precious items have been mistreated and sold off without their consent, it’s safe to say that these plaintiffs aren’t playing around. It’s a total mess, and the owners better figure out how to make things right before they end up in even hotter water. Who knew antiques could cause this much drama?
