During the House Oversight Committee hearing, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez veered into a peculiar exchange with key witness Tony Bobulinski, a former business associate of Hunter Biden. The congresswoman seemed to have a tough time when Bobulinski didn’t give her the answers she was looking for regarding President Joe Biden’s alleged acts of crime. She went on to claim that “RICO is not a crime,” which clashed with the examples provided by Bobulinski during the hearing.
AOCD had her ugly a$$ handed to her but her overinflated ego won't stop her from doubling down. Go bar to the bar.https://t.co/jtm6kqT386

This sparked quite the commotion on social media, with even Senator Ted Cruz chiming in and reposting the video clip of AOC’s “RICO is not a crime” claim. The senator, known for his extensive legal background and a knack for causing a stir, didn’t hold back. He not only labeled the exchange as “bizarre” but also took the opportunity to educate AOC and the public by affirming that RICO is, without a doubt, a crime, backing it up with the statute number and reminding everyone of the severe penalties associated with it.
AOC wasn’t about to let Cruz have the last word. She fired back with a repost of the senator’s tweet, confidently declaring him “Wrong!” and attempting to divert the focus onto the Democrats’ narrative concerning the lack of evidence against the Biden family from the House Republicans.
The congresswoman’s slight of hand with words was no doubt in defense of the president and his family, playing down the seriousness of the RICO statute in a way that’s akin to saying stealing isn’t a crime. It’s like saying stealing has different classifications, such as burglary, larceny, embezzlement, robbery, hence, it’s not a crime. Come on, AOC, that’s a stretch!
AOC’s retort quickly stirred up a storm of over 4,000 replies and reposts, with many folks sharing additional information about the RICO statute and highlighting Cruz’s legal expertise. It seems like there’s a bit of a mismatch here between a former bartender and a seasoned Harvard law graduate and former Supreme Court clerk—no contest there!
Moving away from the drama, it’s worth noting that Bobulinski and Jason Galanis, another witness at the hearing, delved into evidence of corruption, particularly relating to then Vice President Biden’s involvement. Some former associates have been vocal about Biden’s influence and access being leveraged for their business dealings.
And let’s not forget Senator Cruz’s podcast, “The Verdict,” where he doesn’t hold back in discussing the Biden family’s alleged corruption and the evidence implicating President Biden himself. It seems like there’s a lot more to unpack here as the drama continues to unfold.
