This week, the self-proclaimed “Squad” member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made headlines yet again for her refusal to denounce Hamas, a known terrorist organization. When confronted by Tik Tok user Chaya Raichik, Ocasio-Cortez showed her true colors by evading questions about Americans being held hostage by the group.
The encounter was caught on video, as Raichik asked Ocasio-Cortez for a photo. At first, Ocasio-Cortez seemed willing, but as soon as she recognized Raichik and realized she was being filmed, she and her staffer hurriedly walked away. But Raichik didn’t let her off the hook that easily and confronted her with some hard-hitting questions.
Raichik asked if Ocasio-Cortez’s refusal to share space with her was because she was Jewish and Ocasio-Cortez was part of the “Hamas caucus.” Ocasio-Cortez, without providing any real answer, deflected and accused Raichik of being transphobic. It’s clear that Ocasio-Cortez didn’t want to address the real issue at hand – the Americans being held hostage by Hamas.

It’s shocking that Ocasio-Cortez would rather avoid answering questions about innocent Americans being held captive by terrorists. This is a prime example of the dangerous mindset that exists within the Democratic Party. Instead of holding Hamas accountable for their actions, Ocasio-Cortez chooses to ignore the suffering of American citizens and defend the terrorists.
This incident only further highlights Ocasio-Cortez’s misguided views regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. She has previously stated that “war crimes” are not an appropriate response to Hamas’ attacks on Israel. However, by dismissing the seriousness of Hamas’ actions and refusing to acknowledge the American hostages, Ocasio-Cortez is once again aligning herself with the wrong side.
It’s time for Ocasio-Cortez to be held accountable for her dangerous rhetoric and refusal to stand up for American lives. Her actions, or lack thereof, speak louder than words, and it’s clear that she is more interested in playing politics than in defending the rights and safety of her fellow Americans.
