Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is at it again, hurling reckless accusations like confetti at a parade. She’s always full of fiery rhetoric on social media, but this time she’s crossed the line into dangerous territory. Calling former President Donald Trump a “rapist” without a speck of evidence? This isn’t just liberal bluster; it’s potentially costly defamation. Didn’t she learn anything from the debacle that cost the mainstream media millions when they swung the same unfounded accusations?
Trump has never been convicted of rape, and yet AOC continues to act as if facts don’t apply to her liberal utopia. This isn’t just a slip of the tongue; it’s a shocking display of either ignorance or arrogance. It’s time for her to learn that free speech doesn’t mean you can sling mud and defame a former President just because it feels good. If the celebrated First Amendment had a second name, it sure wouldn’t be Ocasio-Cortez.
What AOC seems to miss is a pattern in her own actions: a severe disregard for truth whenever it suits her headline-grabbing agenda. This isn’t an Instagram post gone wrong; it’s a congresswoman deliberately misusing her platform to vilify a man. And yet these are the leaders the progressive left seem to worship—ones that casually discard facts in favor of sensational narratives. They’ll defend her, calling her “brave” or “outspoken,” but where’s the bravery in baseless claims?

Conservatives, on the other hand, know that the cost of defamation isn’t just monetary. It poisons public discourse and causes real harm. Watching this unfold, the wish is for AOC to cut out the fear-mongering and deliver something of substance. When will the left hold their own accountable with the same vigor they claim to do for others?
