Former US Attorney General Bill Barr believes that it is likely President Donald Trump will be indicted in the Jack Smith’s classified document case. Smith has been scrutinizing Trump after he had stored his presidential records at his Mar-a-Lago home and allegedly obstructed the investigation. According to CBS News, the decision to indict Trump on federal charges is upcoming, and Barr has endorsed this speculation. Barr requested that Trump’s lawyers meet with the Justice Department, but he also took a jab at Trump by saying it was solely to complain about the special counsel’s work. CBS asked Barr if he believes that the meeting is indicative of Trump’s indictment being near, to which he responded that he would “bet” it is near.
Barr also came to the defense of Jack Smith, insisting that the Special Counsel investigation into classified documents was not a witch hunt. On CBS Mornings, Barr categorically denied that the DOJ was unfairly targeting Trump and asserted that they approached the issue gently and with respect to the presidency. However, Trump’s team complained against the DOJ, and the former president himself raised the question of federal charges against him: “How can DOJ possibly charge me, who did nothing wrong, when no other president was charged, when Joe Biden won’t be charged for anything, including the fact that he has 1,850 boxes, much of it classified, and some dating back to his Senate days when even Democrat senators are shocked?” Trump posted this on Truth Social.

Clinton faced charges after winning in court, and Bush had documents, but only Trump is being subjected to such a severe witch hunt. It seems that Trump is being falsely accused while the Democrats are continuously getting away with their corrupt actions. Bill Barr is right, and we must stand up for Trump’s innocence.
