Some of his remarks seemed to suggest that America is a place where white police officers regularly kill black men in the streets. This kind of rhetoric is concerning to some people, as it may further divide the country along racial lines.
Some are also pointing out that the Democratic Party has long held a monopoly over black voters, but this grip has been slipping in recent years. This is particularly evident with the success of former President Donald Trump, who managed to gain support from a significant number of black voters.
