The Biden administration did something never done before today: they accused the Israeli military of violating human rights. It’s well known that Joe Biden doesn’t want Israel to defeat Hamas. This causes a problem for him, as many in the Democratic Party have become unfriendly towards Israel. Rafah, a place in Gaza, is the last strong area for Hamas; Israel plans to take it over. As this war goes on, young voters are getting more and more upset with Israel and the Biden White House. These incidents within the Israeli military are said to have happened before October 7th.
The State Department announced that they found five units of the Israel Defense Forces responsible for violating human rights. They are still deciding if they will cut funding for Israel over these actions. The State Department’s principal deputy spokesman mentioned that the violations all happened before the October 7th attacks, and none of them took place in Gaza. Four of the units have fixed the problems, but discussions with the government of Israel are ongoing for the remaining unit.
The Biden Administration's Latest Move Will Certainly Increase Tensions With Israel https://t.co/5L9Q6gEeW1

This action seems to be an attempt to please the pro-Hamas crowd, especially those on college campuses who are against Israel. It’s doubtful that these statements will matter to them. Criticizing Israel without cutting aid, as the Leahy laws require, is a classic move for the year 2024. It’s unfair, but that’s the truth. Biden and his team are trying to prevent states like Michigan from turning against them, particularly Muslim voters. This is something the president can mention when he’s out speaking or talking to the media, to show the extreme left that he’s taking action regarding Israel.
In the meantime, the United States criticized the only democracy in the Middle East and caused unnecessary tension, all because Biden needs to keep his chances of being re-elected alive.
