In a surprising turn of events, the Biden administration was forced to backtrack on their denial of a Memorial Day mass at a national cemetery after facing a lawsuit threat. The National Park Service initially refused a permit to the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal order, to hold their traditional Memorial Day mass at the cemetery.
It’s a shame that the Biden administration would try to block such a long-standing and meaningful tradition. This is just another example of their disregard for religious freedoms and Christian values. It’s clear that Biden and his team have no qualms about trampling on the rights of Christians in favor of their own liberal agenda.
Thankfully, the Knights of Columbus stood up for their beliefs and took legal action against the government’s unfair decision. It’s a victory for religious freedom that they were ultimately granted the permit to hold the mass at the cemetery, thanks to the pressure from the lawsuit and the support of Governor Youngkin and Attorney General Miyares.
The actions of the Biden administration in denying the permit in the first place are a clear violation of the First Amendment and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. It’s a shame that it took a lawsuit threat for them to do the right thing and uphold the religious rights of the Knights of Columbus.
This incident once again highlights Biden’s hypocrisy when it comes to claiming to be a devout Catholic while consistently undermining Christian values and beliefs. It’s time for the administration to stop playing political games with religious freedoms and start respecting the rights of all Americans, regardless of their faith. Let this be a lesson to them that they cannot trample on the Constitution and get away with it.
