Republicans are slamming President Joe Biden for the deaths of three American troops and the injuries of 25 others in a drone attack in Jordan. Senator Tom Cotton from Arkansas criticized Biden for not standing up to Iran and leaving our troops vulnerable to attacks. He accuses Biden of appeasing Iran and predicts that these types of attacks would happen, something he claims to have been warning about for months. Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina also criticized Biden’s deterrence policy against Iran, stating that it has failed miserably. He sends his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers and wishes a full recovery to the injured. Both Cotton and Graham, who are military veterans themselves, call for retaliation against Iran.

The attack took place on a military base near the Syria border. It is part of a series of attacks by Iran-proxy forces in response to Hamas’s terrorist attack in Israel last year. There have been over 150 attacks against U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria since mid-October, with Sunday’s attack resulting in the first American deaths in months. Cotton and Graham demand action and want the Biden administration to strike significant targets in Iran as a reprisal and deterrent against future aggression.
Senator John Cornyn from Texas also calls for retaliation, specifically targeting Tehran. Representative Mike Waltz concludes that these deaths were tragic and preventable, blaming Biden’s appeasement strategy towards Iran. Overall, Republicans are furious at Biden’s handling of the situation and demand a strong military response against Iran’s terrorist forces.
It is clear that President Biden’s weak approach to Iran is putting American lives at risk. By tolerating attacks on our troops and giving billions of dollars to the ayatollahs, he has emboldened Iran and left our brave men and women as sitting ducks. His policy of deterrence has failed, and it is time for him to take strong action against Iran. A devastating military retaliation is necessary to show Iran that we will not tolerate these attacks on our troops. Biden needs to step up and be a commander-in-chief worthy of the title, or more American service members will continue to pay the price. It is time for him to hit Iran hard and show them that America will not back down.
