In a surprising turn of events, CNN’s “fact checker” Daniel Dale has actually taken aim at Joe Biden, making him the subject of one of his rare fact-checks. This comes as a shock to many, as Dale is known for being a notorious apologist for Biden in the press.
The false story in question was told by Biden on the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. While giving a speech at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, Biden claimed that the day after 9/11, he was at Ground Zero in New York City. However, records and video from that day prove that he was actually in Washington, D.C. on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
For once, the media’s fact-checking community has done its due diligence in holding Biden accountable for his false statements. Dale called out Biden’s “Ground Zero fib” and even brought up other tall tales Biden has told over the years, such as the Amtrak conductor story and his claim of driving an 18-wheeler.
BIDEN: "Ground Zero in New York — I remember standing there the next day and looking at the building. I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell."

It’s about time someone in the media has called out Biden for his habit of making stuff up. Usually, the media’s fact-checking is done to excuse a Democrat’s false statement by claiming it was “nuanced” or some other excuse. But this time, Dale didn’t let Biden off the hook.
Biden’s false story about being at Ground Zero shows a lack of respect for the gravity of the 9/11 attacks. It is important for the president to be truthful, especially when discussing such a sensitive and tragic event in our nation’s history. This incident raises questions about Biden’s credibility and his tendency to embellish his own experiences for political gain.
It’s encouraging to see a CNN fact-checker actually holding Biden accountable for his false statements. Hopefully, this will set a new precedent for the media’s treatment of all politicians, regardless of their party affiliation. The American people deserve accurate information and transparency from their leaders, and it’s about time someone in the media took that responsibility seriously.
