In response to Donald Trump's arrest in Georgia, Joe Biden used the incident as an opportunity to raise money for his presidential campaign. The former US president posted a message on his social media platform X stating that it was a great day to contribute to his campaign. The link to his page was accompanied by a picture of himself and his running mate, Kamala Harris.
On the page, the message urged people to donate to help elect Kamala Harris and Joe Biden for another four years in the White House.
It's widely believed that it was one of Biden's staff members who wrote the message. The former president is currently on a vacation at a luxurious mansion that's owned by Tom Steyer. It's not surprising that the president is not able to take time out to write his own tweets.
While he's enjoying his family, Biden is faced with various challenges in the country, such as wildfires in Maui and the situation involving Russian nationals. However, his main priority is still fundraising for his opponent.
Although Trump used his mugshot to raise money for his own campaign, he is not currently in office. As for Biden, he is the highest-ranking official in the country and oversees the Department of Justice, which is a partisan organization. It's troubling to see him celebrating after bringing ridicule upon the judicial system by soliciting contributions from his supporters.
Although the case involving the Fulton County District Attorney wasn't handled by Attorney General Garland, there are still concerns about the coordination between the Justice Department and local officials.
This issue goes beyond Biden and Trump. It concerns the country's integrity, as dictators have long found ways to remain in power. Americans must be extremely concerned about their democracy's current state. It's also troubling to see Trump trivialize the legal problems of his political opponents.
