In a recent CNN interview, President Biden opted for a colorful choice of words to express his views on Trump supporters, dubbing them “garbage.” This statement aimed to stir the pot amidst a comedic dust-up involving Tony Hinchcliffe, a comedian who entertained a crowd at a packed Trump rally in Madison Square Garden. Hinchcliffe, known for his razor-sharp roast style, made a joke that referenced Puerto Rico, prompting the Democrats to seize the opportunity to capitalize on the moment.
Biden’s remarks predictably triggered a firestorm of backlash, reminiscent of Hillary Clinton’s infamous “basket of deplorables” comment. In a bid to soften the blow, a spokesperson was quick to clarify that the president was really just taking aim at Hinchcliffe, not the millions of Americans who voted for Trump. This attempt at damage control fell flat, as the sentiment clearly lumped countless hardworking individuals into one sweeping, dehumanizing category.
At the same time, Vice President Kamala Harris was delivering her own brand of rhetoric while campaigning in D.C. Her “closing argument” speech painted Trump supporters as threats to democracy. Harris continues to misinterpret the events surrounding the January 6th Capitol protests, all while enjoying the blanket immunity that comes with her party’s grip on the narrative. With a firm grasp on irony, she accused her political opponents of tyranny while her administration is busy locking up peaceful demonstrators.

Harris went on to berate the notion that America could be subservient to a so-called “petty tyrant.” This from the woman who became her party’s nominee without so much as a single vote cast in her favor during primaries. Her speech overflowed with grand declarations about America being the greatest idea ever created, seemingly ignoring how that very idea champions free speech and diverse opinions, including those she dismisses so easily.
The hyperbole is not just limited to Biden and Harris. Democrats have ramped up the psychological warfare as the election looms. The Atlantic recently peddled completely debunked claims, attempting to smear Trump by suggesting he praised Adolf Hitler, meanwhile Hillary Clinton went so far as to label Trump’s rally a “Nazi” event. It’s clear that as the election nears, the left will do anything to paint conservatives in a negative light, all the while ignoring the realities of their own actions and policies.
