Biden Claims to be Working on Hostage Crisis While Lounging in Rehoboth

In the latest installment of government theater, President Joe Biden has declared, right from the sandy beaches of Rehoboth, that he has been “working tirelessly” to secure the release of hostages taken by Hamas, including American citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin. One has to wonder if “tirelessly” means lounging on the beach with a piña colada in hand. After all, what does being a vacationing president look like when it comes to handling a crisis? It certainly raises eyebrows when he claims to be working “around the clock” while swapping out beach reads.

Just over the weekend, Israeli forces recovered six bodies of human victims who had the misfortune to fall prey to the filth of Hamas. Among them, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen, whose life was cut tragically short at just 23 years old. The young man had reportedly tried to save others during a Hamas slaughter while attending a music festival for peace. Apparently, peace looks a lot different when you’re made to pay the ultimate price. Biden’s heartbroken words might resonate more if they didn’t come from the helm of a lifeguard tower at the beach.

However, it’s important to remember that this isn’t the first time Biden has had a sympathetic statement ready when tragedy strikes. Just prior to his beach escapades, the president had promised to hold Hamas accountable, which carries a certain “let’s wait and see” vibe. To his credit, he has a long history of delivering strong statements. If only statements sufficed to protect innocent lives rather than leftists debating their definitions of peace and justice while lounging poolside.

Interestingly, the president’s remarks came during a time of low visibility. Since abandoning his presidential campaign in July, he has maintained a stealthy presence, with little to show for it beyond rhetorical commitments to the plight of hostages. One could argue that while he may indeed have been “working” during this time, those responsibilities seem far removed from the world of reality that Americans and Israelis face in the fight against terrorism.

As Israel continues to fight the battle for survival against groups like Hamas, Biden’s emotional tributes ring hollow in the broader context of what is being done to recover those still held captive. In a world where aggressors are finding new ways to disrupt peace, it’s crucial that both action and accountability replace scripted empathy. In the end, people want to see leaders not merely committing to working “around the clock,” but actually achieving results that reflect the sacrifice of the real victims.
