In a dramatic showdown at the southern border, President Biden and former President Trump are both making their way to Texas in an attempt to prove themselves as the alpha dog when it comes to dealing with the hot-button issue of immigration. Biden is heading to Brownsville, with Trump making a bee-line for Eagle Pass, a move that Republican lawmaker Rep. Tony Gonzales has described as Biden hiding from the real crisis by choosing a spot with low arrests. Ouch! Talk about throwing shade.
However, the Democrats are not about to let the Republicans steal the spotlight. Rep. Robert Garcia has been talking smack, claiming that Trump is turning up with an even more extreme version of himself. Meanwhile, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s camp is taking a dig at both Biden and Trump, calling them out for taking their sweet time to visit the border when Haley herself had been there months ago. It’s like a political game of “I did it first!”
EAGLE PASS, Texas — President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will both descend on the southern border Thursday in a historic showdown as each politician vies for the upper hand on voters’ top issue: immigration. https://t.co/d8CHp9T0HW

As if this political circus wasn’t entertaining enough, now we’re seeing a battle of the sexes, with Haley’s communications director claiming that if Biden and Trump want something done, they should ask a woman. Burn! The political drama is heating up faster than a jalapeño on a Texas grill.
Biden, not one to shy away from a challenge, is set to touch down in Brownsville and roll up his sleeves to discuss the urgent need for the Senate bipartisan border security agreement. His White House official has already promised that Biden will be pushing for funding for more Border Patrol agents, asylum officers, and technology to detect fentanyl. Meanwhile, Trump’s camp is playing coy, keeping their plans for the visit to Eagle Pass under wraps. The suspense is killing us!
The bottom line is, the border crisis might as well be a popcorn-worthy blockbuster film with all the political theatrics and back-and-forth accusations. But, as the police chief of Eagle Pass puts it, the real solution lies in Washington, not in politicians making flashy visits for the cameras. Can someone please pass the popcorn?
