Mark Houck, a pro-life activist who faced unjust persecution from the Biden Department of Justice, has announced his decision to challenge U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) during the upcoming Republican primary in April 2024. Houck, a courageous individual, was targeted last year by an FBI raid on his home in Bucks County, where agents equipped with rifles forcefully took him into custody. Houck was indicted under the infamous FACE Act, a law that aims to restrict pro-life activists and their ability to peacefully engage with women outside abortion clinics.
The indictment stemmed from a harmless incident in October 2021, when Houck and his son were peacefully praying outside a Philadelphia abortion clinic. Two women who had left the facility were offered literature by Houck, but their peaceful moment was soon interrupted by a confrontational escort from the clinic named Bruce Love. Love proceeded to berate Houck’s son with intimidating language despite Houck’s pleas for him to back off. Eventually, Houck had to physically defend his son by pushing Love away. Despite the fact that charges were not filed by Philadelphia’s far-left district attorney, Houck fell victim to an FBI raid targeting FACE Act violators right after the landmark Roe v. Wade was overturned. Fortunately, it took a jury less than an hour to declare Houck not guilty of any wrongdoing.

The traumatizing experience Houck endured inspired him to enter the political arena and fight for the protection of American citizens’ rights. His message is clear: no American should live in fear of waking up to a raid on their home or having their loved ones torn from their side. This injustice should not be tolerated, especially against devout Christians who believe in the sanctity of life and engage in peaceful sidewalk counseling outside abortion clinics. Houck’s decision to challenge Rep. Fitzpatrick is a necessary step to rectify the wrongs perpetrated against him and countless others who share his pro-life convictions.
Rep. Fitzpatrick, on the other hand, has positioned himself as a supposed moderate, but his voting record betrays his true colors. He has repeatedly aligned himself with Democrats and voted against conservative principles. Fitzpatrick voted in favor of establishing a January 6 commission, a blatant attempt to vilify former President Trump and his supporters. Furthermore, he shamefully proposed a motion to censure President Trump following the Capitol protests on January 6. Fitzpatrick’s liberal tendencies have also led him to side with Democrats on issues such as Obamacare and gun rights, earning him the ire of grassroots conservatives.
Perhaps most egregious of all is Fitzpatrick’s support for the dangerous “Equality Act,” which undermines the integrity of women’s sports. The act would allow biological male transgender athletes to compete in women’s sports, completely obliterating the concept of fair competition. Fitzpatrick’s endorsement of this bill disregards the rights and interests of female athletes who have trained and dedicated themselves to excel in their respective fields. His betrayal of conservative values and willingness to compromise on crucial issues is deeply concerning and highlights the importance of someone like Mark Houck stepping up to offer a genuine conservative alternative.
The 2024 primary season will prove to be an exciting and crucial moment in American politics. The race between Mark Houck and Rep. Fitzpatrick will undoubtedly draw attention as voters decide whether to support a true conservative champion or settle for a so-called moderate who consistently forsakes conservative values. This is an opportunity for conservatives to reclaim the seat and ensure that their voices are accurately represented in Congress.
