President Biden’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate has sparked some interesting conversations among political watchers, though it may not shift the political landscape in any meaningful way. It seems the Democrats have fallen into a game of “Kam Of Thrones,” where regardless of who’s in charge, the outcome is likely to be just as disastrous for American voters.
In an era where party loyalty often supersedes competence, the Democratic National Committee could place a cardboard cutout of Harris as their candidate and still push forward the same joyless agenda. Biden’s stamp of approval might lead some to believe there will be a radical shift in policy direction, but the reality is far more pedestrian. Whether it’s Biden or Harris, the same unpopular ideas are marching forward like they’ve got marching orders from an invisible puppet master. The Democrats have perfected the art of discussing new leaders while recycling the same tired policies.

Any hopes that Harris will somehow break the mold seem misguided at best. Her track record as vice president (and before that as a senator) doesn’t inspire confidence, to say the least. It’s hard to believe that Democrats would suddenly pivot from their progressive strategy. The policies that fuel their party—higher taxes, more government control, and a rush towards climate hysteria—are unlikely to change simply because a different person with a different hairstyle is occupying the Oval Office.
Moreover, Biden’s endorsement risks an ironic twist: as he tries to grab the reins of party unity, he might just be handing an even heavier weight to Harris. Struggling to distance themselves from Biden’s plunging approval ratings, the DNC might find that Harris isn’t exactly the strong candidate they hoped for. Instead, she risks borrowing Biden’s baggage, amplifying the negative perceptions already circulating about the current administration. Quite the conundrum for the Democrats, who thought they had a surefire plan to retain power.
As the dust settles on this announcement, one thing becomes clear: regardless of who leads the charge, the American citizens will once again be left dealing with a party that refuses to listen. The same ideological remnants will continue to haunt the Democrats, offering little more than a rerun of their most unpopular proposals. Voters may want change, but with Biden and Harris at the forefront, it’s clear that change will be in name only.
