Biden Flounders, Trump Reigns in 2024 Race Showdown!

Based on the most recent poll, it is evident that President Biden is encountering significant challenges in the 2024 election campaign, as he trails former President Donald Trump. According to a poll published by Yahoo News and YouGov, Trump leads Biden 44% to 42% in a head-to-head election matchup. Moreover, voter apprehension regarding Biden's capabilities is expanding.

An unprecedented 54% of respondents now believe Biden is no longer qualified to serve as president; this number has increased from 49% in February. Furthermore, in February, 31% of respondents still hold the view that the president is competent, which represents a decline of four percentage points. Concerns regarding Biden's mental acuity and health have also increased, with 64 percent of respondents indicating that they are somewhat or very concerned. In June 2020, less than half of Americans (48%) expressed the same level of concern regarding Biden's mental health and wellbeing. This represents a significant increase.

Although Trump, the leading candidate in the 2024 Republican primary, is only 3.5 years younger than Biden, 38% of respondents believe he is "fit to be president," compared to 24% who believe the same about Biden. 55% of respondents indicated that Biden's age is a significant concern, while an overwhelming 80% indicated that it is at most a minor issue. An increasing number of instances demonstrate that the public is considerably more cognizant of the president's verbal and physical gaffes than of his legislative achievements.

More Americans are familiar with Biden's lapses and gaffes than with his legislative accomplishments, according to the poll. As an illustration, the proportion of voters who have exposed Biden's "physically stumbling at public events" (47%), "verbal gaffes" (41%), and "falling asleep at public events" (33%) to "a lot" compared to the percentage who have heard Congress pass the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (20%) or Medicare be permitted to negotiate lower prescription drug prices under the ostensible Inflation Reduction Act (23%) is comparable.

This poll follows a statement made by David Axelrod, the senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, regarding Biden's age. Axelrod cautioned that this is one aspect the campaign will be unable to change. The most recent survey is one of many that predict Trump will defeat Biden in 2024. This poll makes it abundantly evident that Biden faces an uphill battle, and doubts regarding his competence and age continue to grow.
