The Biden-Harris administration has managed to rack up quite a statistic: over 14 million illegal border crossings since taking office. Of that alarming figure, more than 3 million come from just four countries—Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela—thanks to a generous parole program concocted by Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. This approach has not only opened the floodgates but has also sparked debates on legality and national security, sending chills down the spines of many everyday Americans.
The numbers alone are staggering. In the time frame from fiscal years 2021 to 2024, approximately 2.5 million illegal immigrants from these CHNV (Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela) countries crossed the border. When adding in the nearly 531,000 who were released under the same program, the grand tally jumps to a jaw-dropping 3 million. This does not even take into account all those who slipped through the cracks, evaded capture, or found another “creative” way to gain entry into the country, including those using the much-maligned CBP One App, a handy tool apparently designed for the illegal immigrant community.

Mayorkas insists that these programs are not just legal but absolutely essential, although a few pesky federal judges disagree. Republican lawmakers have wasted little time using this information as a platform for impeachment proceedings against Mayorkas. Rather than simply taking his word for it, they point out that the papers detailing the status of these foreign nationals explicitly state they are illegal aliens, unlawfully present and destined to report to immigration judges—at least, those that the overwhelmed system can accommodate in a timely manner.
The situation grows even murkier when considering that two out of the four CHNV countries—Cuba and Nicaragua—are flagged by the U.S. State Department for “systematic, ongoing, egregious violations” of religious freedom. One would think that would raise some eyebrows, especially in a nation that prides itself on upholding freedom and human rights. But instead, it seems that in this administration, security concerns take a back seat to political correctness.
Breaking down the illegal crossings shows even more alarming trends. For instance, over 786,000 Cubans have streamed across the border—remarkably high numbers that shatter previous records. The past fiscal year alone saw record-breaking entries, heightening concerns about national security, especially given the backdrop of Chinese espionage operations linked to Cuban territory. Meanwhile, nearly 700,000 Haitians and more than 536,000 Nicaraguans have also made their way into the U.S., with local communities struggling to cope with the increased costs and crime related to this influx.
Then there’s the issue of the Venezuelans, who are now sliding across the border at nearly one million strong. This group includes notorious criminal elements, like members of the Tren De Aragua gang, a federally designated foreign terrorist organization. The irony here is thick: while the Biden administration lectures on immigration reform, actual criminal migratory patterns seem to be on the rise, creating a cocktail of chaos on American soil.
The sum of all these events paints a vivid picture: more than 3 million illegal border crossers from just four countries, outnumbering the populations of 17 states combined. To put that into perspective for the numbers enthusiasts, that’s equivalent to over 67 U.S. Army Corps. While some may pat themselves on the back for their humanitarian efforts, others are left to wonder what happened to protecting the homeland.
