Targeting Hispanic voters, the Biden-Harris team is airing its third advertisement during the Republican presidential debate. "The Difference," a 30-second commercial, seeks to emphasize what makes Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden different from Republicans. The advertisement states, a little sarcastically, "Some talk. Some do. And we see the distinction in our community. Republicans claim to be in our corner, but we are aware that they serve the wealthy and powerful.
Remarkably, polls conducted recently indicate that, in comparison to other GOP contenders, former President Donald Trump is garnering the backing of a higher proportion of Black and Hispanic voters. At the annual Congressional Hispanic Caucus gala, President Biden made a mistake by calling the group the Congressional Black Caucus. This new advertisement by Biden and Harris coincides with that incident. Sorry! It appears that the Democrats could require all the assistance they can get to win over voters.

The commercial will run in major battleground states like Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin on TV and internet platforms in both English and Spanish. It will also be televised in Spanish on a Univision feed of the Republican debate. Targeting Hispanic voters is a focus of the campaign, which is still going strong as this latest advertisement is the third of its kind. The prior advertisements, "Nosotros" and "For Us," targeted Latino voters and were also in Spanish.
The Biden-Harris administration is determined to highlight Mr. Biden's “historic investments and unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life of Latino Americans” with a $25 million ad campaign targeted at key battleground states. They contrast this commitment with what they see as “MAGA Republicans” who only focus on the “rich and wealthy.” The ad ends with a bold statement that declares, “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the difference.” It remains to be seen if Hispanic voters will find this sentiment convincing.
