In a bid to attack former President Donald Trump and his supporters, President Joe Biden is planning to use the third anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol incursion to deliver a speech at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. The speech will take place near the Pennsylvania Continental Army encampment site, where Gen. George Washington set up his headquarters during the Revolutionary War. Biden’s campaign manager, Julie Chávez Rodríguez, emphasized that the upcoming election in November 2024 is about safeguarding democracy and preserving Americans’ fundamental freedoms.

Biden’s campaign is shaping up to be more aggressive towards Trump as the 2024 campaign season gains momentum. However, it is worth noting that there is no historical connection between the Revolutionary War and Trump or the upcoming election. It’s disappointing to see Biden attempting to exploit American history to attack American voters.
Meanwhile, Biden is expected to employ various falsehoods regarding the Jan. 6 incident, such as labeling it an “insurrection” despite no one being charged with that crime. Additionally, he falsely claims that Trump incited the supposed insurrection, despite evidence to the contrary. On Jan. 8, Biden will visit the Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, South Carolina, where a white supremacist killed nine churchgoers in 2015.
In a recent poll conducted by The Washington Post, the number of voters who view Biden’s election as “illegitimate” has risen by 20%. Only 24% of Republicans and 17% of Trump voters consider Jan. 6, 2021, to be an “attack on democracy that should never be forgotten.” The poll reveals that Republicans are less likely to blame Trump for the incident compared to 2021. It seems that the impact of Jan. 6 is waning among Republicans.
