Congresswoman Nancy Mace from South Carolina had some strong words to say about the potential impeachment inquiry into President Biden. During an appearance on Fox News, Mace referred to the whole thing as “window dressing.” Ouch! She made it clear that she thinks the inquiry is just a distraction and won’t go anywhere.
Mace isn’t the only Republican who is skeptical of impeachment. Congressman Ken Buck from Colorado has also been throwing cold water on the idea. He says there’s not enough evidence to support impeaching Biden and that it’s just a way for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to avoid making spending cuts. Mace seems to agree with this sentiment and wants to focus on real issues like spending cuts and preventing a government shutdown.
She warned that if Congress can’t get their act together and prioritize spending in legislation, we could be facing a government shutdown in the next couple of weeks. And who’s to blame for this mess? According to Mace, both Republicans and Democrats are at fault. She believes that both sides have spent too much money over the last decade and now it’s time to clean up the mess.
Mace wants both an investigation into Biden and spending cuts to happen at the same time. She thinks it’s important for Congress to show the American people that they can “walk and chew gum at the same time.” Let’s hope they can figure it out and prevent a government shutdown.
