Biden Late to the Scene: Ohio Train Derailment Finally on Radar

President Joe Biden is finally making his way to East Palestine, Ohio, to acknowledge the disastrous train derailment that occurred a year ago. This visit comes after months of criticism for the president’s failure to address the community and the hazardous chemicals that were spilled as a result of the incident. It’s about time, Joe!

During his visit, Biden will meet with residents who have been directly impacted by the derailment and the subsequent spillage of dangerous chemicals. The White House claims that Biden will also highlight the progress his administration has made in collaborating with state and local leaders to protect the community and hold Norfolk Southern accountable for their actions. Let’s hope it’s not all just empty promises and photo ops.

It’s worth noting that President Donald Trump actually visited East Palestine shortly after the accident, bringing truckloads of bottled water to the residents. Now that’s a leader who knows how to show up for his people! It’s quite the contrast to Biden and his federal government, who have seemingly failed East Palestine from the beginning. Clearly, one president understands the importance of being there for the citizens in their time of need, while the other prefers to fly over the town on his way to promote his own agenda. Yikes, Biden.

All we can hope for now is that Biden’s visit to East Palestine will actually make a difference for the community. They’ve been dealing with air and water contamination for far too long, and they deserve better. Let’s just hope Biden doesn’t disappoint them once again.
