Joe Biden spoke at the Annual Gala for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus late at night, and let's just say that it didn't go well for him. This is why it's not surprising that the president doesn't do many evening events. Not only did he keep calling "MAGA Republicans" "mega Republicans" instead of the insult he was trying to make, but he also said a lot of crazy things that no one believes.
Let's start with Biden's claim that he has cut the deficit. This statement is like a gambler who loses their house and then brags about not having to pay the mortgage anymore. The US government is on track to have a deficit of more than $2 trillion this year. If Republicans hadn't fought against wasteful spending, this number would be even higher. Sure, deficits have gone down from their highest point during the Biden administration, but that's only because the president made the deficit so big with his infrastructure bill and the American Rescue Act that it was hard to look away. Biden has no right to say that "lowering" the deficit to $2 trillion is his work.

Then, Biden said he had won against "Big Pharma." This is funny, considering that during his time in office, the federal government paid billions of dollars to drug companies for COVID-19 vaccines. Joe Biden has done more to make Big Pharma rich than anyone else. This claim is just wrong.
But Biden's most outrageous claim was when he talked about the crisis at the Southern border. It's hard to understand how someone can lie so easily and not feel bad about it. Biden said that Republicans have "gutted" the immigration system and are still hurting security at the border. This is the furthest thing from the truth. Republicans didn't pass any laws that destroyed the immigration system, and Donald Trump didn't get rid of any parts of the system that made it work. In fact, Republicans have been telling the Biden administration to increase border security, but all they've gotten in return is a flood of illegal immigrants crossing the border.
The truth is that Joe Biden is to blame for the situation at the border. Any idea to the contrary is just crazy. Biden is very good at saying things with a straight face, but no one believes these crazy claims. It's clear that he doesn't know what's going on in the real world, and it's scary that he's in charge of our country.
