In a move that has raised eyebrows among conservatives, President Joe Biden has appointed Penny Pritzker, a close associate of former President Barack Obama, to spearhead Ukraine's economic recovery efforts. Pritzker, a billionaire heiress and former commerce secretary, is a figure with a notable association with the subprime mortgage crisis at Superior Bank. This appointment has fueled concerns that Biden is more inclined to reward his political allies rather than genuinely assist Ukraine.
The announcement of Penny Pritzker's new role leading Ukraine's economic recovery came from National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, a key proponent of the "Russia collusion" allegations against former President Donald Trump. Sullivan emphasized Pritzker's mission to attract international investment to Ukraine and implement necessary reforms to enhance its business environment. However, Pritzker's track record does little to inspire confidence.
During her tenure as commerce secretary, Pritzker's most significant action was relinquishing American control over internet domain names. Additionally, she played a part in the controversial billion-dollar loan guarantees to Ukraine, which were connected to Hunter Biden's involvement with Burisma. These instances underscore Pritzker's history of questionable decisions and potential conflicts of interest.

It is noteworthy that Pritzker has not faced inquiries regarding her knowledge of Biden's potential conflicts of interest in Ukraine. Regrettably, the mainstream media has not been known for holding the Biden administration or its associates accountable. This appointment further exemplifies concerns that Biden's promise to "drain the swamp" has given way to filling it with loyalists of his own.
Conservatives will closely monitor the policies that Pritzker implements in Ukraine. The central question is whether she will prioritize the interests of the American people or continue to place emphasis on her personal and political connections. Time will be the ultimate judge, but conservatives may not want to hold their breath for substantial change.
