Biden Plans Response to Trump Verdict at White House, Timing Unclear

President Biden is planning to talk about former President Donald Trump’s ongoing legal case from the White House. The talk is supposed to happen when the verdict is announced to make it seem not political.

The President’s speech will depend on what the jury decides, according to sources who spoke anonymously to Politico. If Mr. Trump is found guilty, the Biden campaign will say he is not suitable for office. They might also use phrases like “Convicted Felon Donald Trump” in social media. If he is not guilty or there is no decision, other attacks are planned.

The exact time of the speech has not been decided yet, the sources said.

The President’s re-election campaign has not said much about Mr. Trump’s trial. However, when Mr. Biden said he would be ready for a debate, he made a quick comment about the trial. He said, “I hear you’re free on Wednesdays.” Wednesdays were when the trial usually did not happen.

The Democrats also started selling “Free on Wednesdays” shirts on their website. They were for $32.

Closing arguments in the trial began earlier this week, and the jury could decide as soon as next week.

The Biden campaign had actor Robert De Niro and two Capitol Police officers outside the courthouse on Tuesday. Mr. De Niro criticized the former president, saying he will “ruin” the country and the world if he wins in November.

The Washington Times tried reaching out to the White House and the Biden campaign for comments, but did not receive any response.
