Inflation is proving to be the ultimate party crasher in America’s post-COVID recovery, and it seems the Biden administration is throwing a banquet of bad policies to accompany it. While everyday Americans scramble to pay their grocery bills, leftist policymakers have been busy perfecting their “how to ignore reality” skills. The cost of living continues to rise faster than a cat meme going viral, and it’s primarily due to the endless spending spree unleashed by Washington.
Gone are the days of responsible budgeting. Under the current regime, the government acts more like a teenager with a new credit card than a careful steward of taxpayer dollars. Despite all the happy talk about economic recovery and a booming job market, one glance at grocery prices would tell any sensible person that the only thing really booming is inflation. Eggs and gasoline now come with a price tag so high that they might as well be sold in a jewelry store.
PRICES CRISIS: Americans are paying the price for Bidenflation:
🔺Overall prices up 20.5%
🔺Food up 23.0%
🔺Shelter up 23.8%
🔺Rent up 23.7%
🔺Car insurance up 57.5%
🔺Energy up 29.6% pic.twitter.com/w3axFsJmah— Conservative War Machine (@WarMachineRR) December 11, 2024
The Federal Reserve is doing its part to help by raising interest rates, which is akin to throwing a life raft to a person already drowning. Rates go up, borrowing becomes harder, and yet inflation continues to refuse to budge. It’s almost as if the Fed operates on a philosophy of “just throw more confusion at the problem.” Meanwhile, consumers are left scratching their heads, trying to navigate an economy that feels increasingly rigged against them.
Some economists hold tight to the belief that corporate greed is fueling the price hikes, but the truth is that government policies are at the heart of this mess. High taxes and regulations make it harder for businesses to thrive, which in turn affects prices and availability. Instead of addressing the root causes, Democrats prefer to point fingers and engage in blame games, forgetting that their policies often seem to act like a wrecking ball to the small businesses that are the lifeblood of the American economy.
All this has left conservatives shaking their heads in disbelief and frustration. The remedy is straightforward: the government needs to stop treating inflation like a pesky little gnat instead of the multi-headed monster it has become. If the Biden administration wishes to get a grip on this issue and allow Americans to feel a semblance of financial security again, it must take a hard look in the mirror and rethink its approach to spending and regulation. Until then, the average American will continue to feel the weight of inflation pressing down like a bad hangover after a night at the open bar—an experience that no one asked for and many will prioritze avoiding in the future.
