This directive, announced by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), requires all employees to use the gender pronouns chosen by individuals, irrespective of their biological sex, sparking concerns about potential infringements on First Amendment rights and the risk of termination for those deemed to have engaged in "misgendering."
Roger Severino, a Heritage Foundation expert and former HHS official, has strongly criticized this mandate, contending that the government should not compel employees to communicate untruths. He argues that Americans should not be coerced into adopting an ideology that contradicts their own religious beliefs. Severino sheds light on what he perceives as the Biden Administration's imposition of "pure ideological conformity" on the American people, citing two executive orders targeting "gender discrimination" based on "gender identity" as evidence of a concerning agenda.
