In what can only be described as a classic case of Biden shooting himself in the foot, the president decided to overshadow Vice President Kamala Harris’s attempt to woo undecided and conservative voters with some choice words about supporters of former President Donald Trump. As if the Democrats didn’t have enough PR problems on their hands, Biden called Trump’s backers “garbage.” Timing is everything, and it seems he’s missed the memo.
Biden’s comments came just before Harris’s big closing argument speech at the Ellipse. Apparently, he couldn’t resist weighing in on a joke made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a Trump rally, which likened Puerto Rico to a “floating island of garbage.” Instead of rallying support for Harris, the president seemed to be determined to hand Republicans a golden opportunity to rally their base. For a party that claimed to value unity, this kind of bad-mouthing isn’t exactly helpful.
This is more than just a 'deplorables' moment…this is the PRESIDENT of the United States smearing half the nation, not some whiney old presidential CANDIDATE

In true White House fashion, officials quickly switched gears, attempting damage control faster than Biden can mix up his words at a town hall. Spokesman Andrew Bates was dispatched to clarify that the president’s comments weren’t aimed at Trump supporters, but rather directed at the comedian. At this point, it’s hard to tell whether the Biden team is trying to actually communicate a message or merely employing the old “throw-it-at-the-wall-and-see-what-sticks” approach.
Biden made it abundantly clear that his rants about Trump were as creatively empty as his administration’s promises. Calling out Trump for lacking “character” and dismissing an entire group of Americans sounds familiar and smells like desperation. Isn’t it interesting how the same politicians who preach inclusivity are often the first to exile anyone they perceive as a “deplorable”? That narrative doesn’t just echo Hillary Clinton’s infamous comments back in 2016; it appears to be the Democrats’ go-to playbook.
As Harris tried to pick up the pieces in her speech, she promised to be all about finding common ground—even with those pesky conservatives. In typical Democrat fashion, she claimed to be open to dialogue rather than demonization, as if anyone believes her statements can withstand scrutiny. Meanwhile, Republican Senator Marco Rubio shot back, arguing that Biden’s remarks were a direct attack on everyday Americans who put their heart and soul into loving their country. It’s a reminder that true patriots are nothing close to garbage, despite what the Biden administration seems to think.
With the election just around the corner, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Both Trump and Harris are scrambling to secure votes in an election that’s shaping up to be a nail-biter. Polls show them neck-and-neck across swing states, which means every word counts—and for Biden, it appears that words are in short supply. As the dust settles on what is sure to be yet another chaotic election season, one thing remains clear: the Democrats may have their work cut out for them in trying to convince America that “garbage” belongs in a dumpster, not representing their party.
