The Biden administration once again proves that it will stop at nothing to promote its radical pro-abortion agenda. This week, the United States marked the third anniversary of the Geneva Consensus Declaration (GCD), a monumental document that upholds women’s health, the right to life, and the importance of family. Unfortunately, President Joe Biden and his liberal cronies wasted no time in pulling the U.S. out of this essential agreement.

But conservative lawmakers aren’t backing down. Congressman Jim Banks (R-IN) boldly called out the White House’s relentless efforts to fund abortions with taxpayer dollars. In an exclusive statement to Townhall, he criticized the Biden State Department for promoting abortion, transgenderism, and even atheism abroad. Bravo, Rep. Rep. Banks is not alone in his fight. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), another honorary co-chair of the GCD, has joined forces with him to demand that President Biden re-enter the document. Together, they champion the cause of defending America’s reputation and advancing religious freedom. It’s refreshing to see conservative members of Congress actively working to protect our values.
The Institute for Women’s Health (IWH), the driving force behind the GCD, also commended Rep. Banks for his unwavering dedication. Valerie Huber, president of the IWH, expressed gratitude for his efforts and urged President Biden to recognize the significance of the declaration. The coalition of 37 nations, representing over 1.6 billion people, stands as a beacon for women’s health, life, and family around the globe. It’s time for the U.S. to rejoin this thriving coalition.
Not only did Rep. Banks file a resolution celebrating the third anniversary of the GCD, but Senator Daines also filed his own resolution in the House. They’re leaving no stone unturned in their quest to restore the United States’ participation in this crucial agreement. Both resolutions call on President Biden and future presidents to support the principles enshrined in the declaration. It’s about time we had leaders who prioritize the well-being of women and families.
Even former President Donald Trump pledged to rejoin the GCD last month, recognizing the immense value it holds. It’s no wonder that current HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, a pro-abortion fanatic, is opposed to the declaration. The Biden administration is clearly more interested in pushing its radical agenda than in upholding women’s health.
We must continue to support lawmakers like Rep. Banks and Senator Daines who are fighting to protect the values we hold dear. The Geneva Consensus Declaration is an opportunity for the United States to stand for life, family, and national sovereignty.
