It’s almost comical how the bar for his performances has been set so low that a slightly less disastrous appearance is hailed as a minor victory.
It’s no secret that Joe Biden’s ascent to the presidency was not fueled by a groundswell of adoration from his own party but rather a seething disdain for the orange man who came before him. The Democrats didn’t embrace Biden so much as they reluctantly resigned to tolerate him, like that distant relative who shows up uninvited to Thanksgiving every year.
