This comes after Hamas, in its despicable October 7th terrorist attacks on Israeli border towns, took approximately 200 innocent people hostage. The Biden administration believes that the majority of Americans still unaccounted for in Israel are among this group of hostages. The President, speaking at the White House, made it clear that the priority is to have these hostages released before any discussions of a ceasefire can take place.
It is refreshing to see a President who prioritizes the safety and well-being of American citizens over political negotiations. It is unconscionable that innocent civilians are being caught up in this conflict, and it is the responsibility of the Biden administration to do everything in its power to ensure their release.
