Vice President Joe Biden’s notebook reveals a shocking revelation about his time in the Obama administration. The then-Vice President was so opposed to Obama’s decision to send troops to Afghanistan that he considered throwing in the towel and resigning from his post altogether. In a series of notes, Biden described the decision as a “strategic blunder” that would “bring [Obama’s] administration down.” Talk about drama in the White House!

Biden even went as far as sending a strongly worded memo to then-President Obama, trying to change his mind about the troop deployment. He reportedly felt so strongly about the issue that he considered speaking out and ready to “save” Obama’s rear end. Looks like Biden’s fighting spirit didn’t sit well with special counsel Robert Hur, who found classified documents about Afghanistan stashed away at Biden’s Delaware home. It seems Biden wanted to keep these documents as a trophy, as they served as evidence of his opposition to the Afghanistan policies under the Obama administration.
For all the fuss he made, the special counsel report didn’t find enough to press criminal charges against Biden. But the fact that he was willing to go to such extremes to preserve his opposition to Obama’s decisions shows just how far he was willing to go to uphold his principles. Biden’s headstrong and confrontational approach to the Obama administration’s policies reveals the inner workings of a man with a mission, even if it meant butting heads with his boss.
