Biden to Exit 2024 Race, Hints at Oval Office Address Amid Speculations

President Biden, potentially sensing that the clock is winding down on his political fortunes, has chosen to deliver an Oval Office address. This announcement comes as he prepares to drop out of the 2024 Democratic presidential race—a move that’s about as surprising as a sunny day in the desert. After all, when one has been virtually MIA since July 17, one might start to speculate whether they’ve lost their campaigning mojo or simply found a cozy spot to settle in for an extended nap.

Biden announced his upcoming speech via X, where he cryptically alluded to addressing “what lies ahead” and his commitment to “finish the job for the American people.” One can’t help but chuckle at this notion. What exactly does “finishing the job” mean? If it involves continuing on a trajectory of record inflation, escalating crime, and an open Southern border, many Americans might prefer he take his time heading for the exit.

The president’s recent bout with COVID-19 has sidelined him at his picturesque Rehoboth Beach residence, a location more fitting for a “retirement announcement” than a political campaign. As Biden prepares to return to the White House, the question on everyone’s mind is whether he’ll bring any new ideas along with him or simply regurgitate the same tired platitudes that have kept his approval ratings in the gutter.

Meanwhile, during a call to a campaign meeting, he managed to show some support for Vice President Kamala Harris’ bid to take his place. This choice has conservative circles buzzing with excitement. Harris might as well be holding a “Help Wanted” sign given her own shaky leadership ratings. It appears the Democratic Party has decided to double down on their strategy of pushing anyone who fits the identity politics bill—competence be damned.

As the nation braces for what will undoubtedly be a mix of vague promises and grandiose visions of the future, Republicans can take heart. With Biden’s exit likely meaning a Harris candidacy, conservatives just might grab a front-row seat to witness the unravelling of the Democratic Party as they try to navigate a leadership that appears as stable as a Jenga tower in a windstorm. One thing is for sure: no one can say this drama hasn’t been entertaining.
