Biden Uses Carter Funeral To Jab At Trump While Claiming Moral High Ground

During the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, President Joe Biden’s remarks practically screamed “I’m taking a shot at Donald Trump”—even if he didn’t explicitly name the man. Biden attempted to wax poetic about strength of character, implying that true power stems from treating everyone with dignity and respect. Of course, in classic Democratic fashion, this was less about honoring Carter and more about launching a veiled attack against Trump and his supporters, who are often falsely labeled as hatemongers by the left.

The president’s comments about an “obligation to give hate no safe harbor” were rich coming from a party that seems to excel at throwing around insults and fervently opposing anyone who disagrees with their agenda. Biden’s insinuation that the greatest sin of all is the abuse of power was particularly ironic, given that the Democrats have been in a state of feverish panic ever since Trump left office—and their primary methods of response have often involved, you guessed it, abusing power.

It’s almost comical how Democrats are engaging in a classic case of projection. They’ve tried to muddy the waters by initiating a series of dubious prosecutions against Trump, all while claiming they’re concerned about abuses of power. Biden’s implication that these legal maneuvers are about justice rather than keeping the “Orange Man Who Is Bad” from a return to power is laughably disingenuous, even causing discomfort among those who normally align with the left.

Polling data tells a revealing story. According to a June 2023 Quinnipiac poll, a staggering 62 percent of Americans think that federal cases against Trump are rooted in political maneuvering rather than any legitimate pursuit of justice. Among Republicans, that number rockets to 91 percent, while even 28 percent of Democrats can see the truth peeking through the fog of leftist propaganda. This suggests that the average American isn’t buying the facade that the Democratic establishment is selling.

Now, let’s not forget the Democrats’ attempt to use a provision from the 14th Amendment to discredit Trump’s candidacy. This particular section was originally aimed at former Confederate officials, meant to bar those who participated in rebellion from holding office. Yet, the Democrats twisted it to claim that Trump somehow incited a riot on January 6, attempting to disqualify him from the ballot in several states. If this isn’t a blatant abuse of power, what else could possibly qualify?

In summary, Biden’s speech at Carter’s funeral was more about political one-upmanship than it was about honoring the former president. While preaching about character and respect, he’s merely following the age-old tactic of accusing one’s political adversaries of the very offenses they’re guilty of themselves. If the left wants to run a game of “who’s the bigger hypocrite,” it seems they’ve already won the title.
