President Joe Biden took a trip to see Hallie Biden, the ex-wife of Beau Biden and Hunter Biden’s former flame, right before she’s slated to hop on the witness stand in Hunter’s gun trial, as per the White House press pool. The White House was quick to say that the visit wasn’t about Hunter’s legal troubles, but more about honoring the memory of Beau, who passed away nine years back due to cancer.
So what’s the tea with this Hunter Biden gun drama? Well, Hallie supposedly chucked a gun that belonged to Hunter into a dumpster behind some random store, according to a tip-off to Fox News from a couple of years ago. Jury selection for Hunter’s case is penciled in for June 3rd.

Hunter apparently said “no thanks” to a deal from the prosecutors last July. This deal would have let him off the hook for not paying taxes on a cool $1.5 million in earnings over 2017 and 2018. Instead of doing time, he would have just been under probation. Also, folks were whispering about some kind of magic legal agreement that could have hushed up a gun felony from showing up on his record.
Hunter was charged with a false statement in the gun purchase, possession of a gun while being hooked on a controlled substance, and another fib related to gun store paperwork. To add some spice, he’s in hot water for tax mishaps out in California as well.
This whole legal tango is known as United States v. Hunter Biden, No. 24-1703 in the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
