Meanwhile, Trump is set to visit Eagle Pass, Texas, where he is expected to blame Biden for the border mayhem. It’s like a political showdown at the OK Corral, folks!
Biden, who has finally admitted that the border is about as secure as a house with no doors, continues to point the finger at Congressional Republicans for the mess at the border. Of course, why take responsibility when you can just play the blame game, am I right? A funding package to help tackle the border chaos is currently stuck in Congress as lawmakers duke it out over what to do next. Not to be outdone, January 2024 saw over 176,000 encounters at the border, breaking records left and right. It’s like the border crisis is running its own marathon and hitting personal bests every step of the way.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has been tap dancing faster than a squirrel on a hot tin roof when asked about Biden’s lack of border visits. She tried to justify Biden’s absence by pointing to his visit in January 2023 like it was yesterday. Well, news flash, Karine, that was like a year ago! The Daily Caller grilled her on when Biden plans to make a return trip, but all she could do was repeat that he’s been there, done that. It’s like watching a broken record on repeat.
As the border crisis rages on, it seems like Biden is more interested in playing a game of hide and seek rather than actually facing the problem head-on. Maybe it’s time for the president to put on his big boy pants, visit the border, and show some real leadership instead of passing the buck like a hot potato.
