Biden’s $76M Diversity Push: National Security or Mandating Division?

This week, the State Department asked Congress for an additional $26 million to support its DEI initiatives, which it considers a national security priority. According to Gina Abercrombie, the department's chief diversity and inclusion officer, the funds would help hire more people and monitor the department's racial and gender makeup.

According to the testimony of Abercrombie Winstanley, getting the correct DEIA is a top priority for the Biden administration. It believes that having diverse perspectives and backgrounds is vital to ensuring that foreign policy is both smart and creative.

Critics of the DEI initiative, such as Congressman Brian Mast of Florida, claim that it is a mandating division within the department. He claims that the name of the office, which uses terms such as inclusion, diversity, and equity, is a poor reflection of what America stands for.

Unfortunately, this issue is not the only one that concerns the State Department's DEI initiatives. According to Mast, the actions of these programs give the impression that the department is looking for a particular ethnic or religious group.

Rep. Jason Crow of Colorado, who is the ranking member of the Subcommittee on Foreign Affairs, criticized the criticism. He noted that people who talk about merit should first consider the country's history and the unequal playing field. He also believes that DEI programs are necessary because a diverse workforce can produce positive results.

Despite the differences between the two parties, Biden's DEI agenda is still intact. In February, he issued an executive order requiring all federal agencies to adopt and implement positive discrimination and quotas. He also ordered them to create equity leadership teams and release yearly action plans.

At the White House, a variety of prominent LGBT individuals and activists were present for a Pride event. One of them was Rose Montoya, a transgender influencer from Tik Tok. However, a spokesperson for Biden criticized her topless photo.
