Immigration continues to be a pressing issue in our country, and its impact on elections cannot be disregarded. Illegal aliens not only affect the allocation of congressional seats but also influence the electoral votes for the presidency. Even Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX, has been sounding the alarm about this problem. Thankfully, Republicans in both the House and the Senate have introduced bills to address this issue, because we all know Democrats won’t do anything about it.

Immigration Experts Detail Just How Badly Illegal Aliens Could Impact the Election https://t.co/PLf8AVIYJE— JD4RD (@dun37170363) February 15, 2024
It’s clear just how important this issue is to the Democrats. On Joe Biden’s very first day in office, he wasted no time signing an executive order to count noncitizens. This move is nothing short of calculated, as it can greatly benefit the Democrats in future elections. But immigration experts are now speaking out about the true impact of this decision.
Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, explains that including illegal immigrants in the census count for apportionment is not only outrageous, but it also distorts the mechanics of our democratic government. Illegal immigrants shouldn’t even be here, let alone have a say in the apportionment process. Krikorian rightfully questions whether it is healthy or right for our democratic process to be manipulated in this way, and the answer should unequivocally be no.
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform, there are approximately 16.8 million illegal immigrants currently residing in the United States. This means that roughly 22 seats in the House of Representatives are being occupied by individuals who shouldn’t even be in the country. This is not only an unfair advantage for the Democrats but also a grave injustice to the American citizens who are being diluted by the presence of illegal aliens.
Furthermore, the impact on electoral votes cannot be ignored. States like California and New York, where citizens are fleeing in droves, could potentially benefit from the influx of illegal aliens. It raises suspicions as to why these states are so adamant about being sanctuary cities or states. By allowing illegal aliens to flood in, they can hold onto power that they would otherwise lose. The last census already resulted in New York losing a House seat, which just goes to show the significance of these calculations.
Lora Ries, director of the Heritage Foundation’s Border Security and Immigration Center, and RJ Hauman, president of the Immigration Center for Enforcement, have warned about the potential for “warped representation” in Congress. They argue that excluding noncitizens from apportionment is crucial to ensure that only American citizens, the ones who can and should vote, are choosing our nation’s leaders. It’s time to put a stop to the intentional border crisis created by Biden and prevent foreign nationals from influencing our national politics.
Sen. Bill Hagerty of Tennessee rightfully calls this manipulation of the system unconscionable, as it dilutes the votes of American citizens. He points out that while people are fleeing Democrat-run cities, desperate Democrats are filling the void with illegal immigrants to maintain their seats in Congress and artificially boost their political power. This tactic diminishes the power of American citizens’ votes and undermines the very essence of our democracy.
Moreover, the inclusion of illegal aliens in the population count not only impacts congressional seats and electoral votes but also affects the distribution of federal dollars. States with higher illegal immigrant populations receive more federal funding, creating yet another incentive for politicians to hold onto power and money by exploiting this issue. It’s a vicious cycle that must be broken through legislation.
It is imperative that we prioritize rectifying this issue by passing the pending bills. Many Americans may not even be aware of the impact illegal immigration has on our elections, but it is crucial that they understand the ramifications. We cannot allow politicians to benefit from flooding our country with illegal aliens. By curtailing these benefits, we can discourage the desire to illegally cross our borders and protect the integrity of our elections. It’s time for both Democrats and Republicans to prioritize the American people over their own political gain.
