In a stunning display of incompetence, President Joe Biden has selected the unpopular Kamala Harris to head the new Office of Gun Violence Prevention. Politico, known for its liberal bias, reported that Harris is a “natural fit” due to her alleged involvement in gun safety policy. However, given Harris’s lack of success as vice president and her overall unpopularity, this decision is leaving many scratching their heads.
This new federal office was announced by the White House in a press release on Thursday. Biden then publicly confirmed its creation on Friday, outlining its four major functions. According to Fox News, these functions include implementing the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, expediting Biden’s executive actions on gun control, offering support to shooting victims akin to FEMA’s response to natural disasters, and identifying new executive orders for Biden to sign. It’s clear that Biden is using this office as a backdoor to push for gun control measures that he couldn’t get passed through Congress.
It’s important to note that Biden is once again bypassing the proper legislative process by implementing these measures through executive action. He seems to have a fondness for ruling by fiat, rather than working with Congress to represent the will of the people. This move is a blatant disregard for our democratic system and the principles on which our country was founded.

Harris, in her statement following the creation of the office, spewed the usual empty promises and platitudes. She claimed that the Office of Gun Violence Prevention would help implement Biden’s efforts to “reduce violence to the fullest extent under the law.” But let’s not forget Harris’s track record. Remember when Biden appointed her as the border “czar”? Despite her lofty promises, the southern border is in shambles, with no end in sight. It’s clear that Harris is more interested in virtue signaling than actually getting results.
When it comes to gun violence prevention, conservatives understand the importance of protecting our Second Amendment rights while addressing the root causes of violence. Instead of pushing for ineffective gun control measures, Biden and Harris should be focusing on addressing mental health issues, strengthening law enforcement, and promoting responsible gun ownership. However, it’s clear that their agenda is more about infringing on our rights than actually making our communities safer.
With Harris at the helm of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention, we can expect ineffective policies, grandstanding, and a lot of empty rhetoric. It’s time for conservatives to stand firm in defense of our constitutional rights and push back against Biden and Harris’s radical agenda. The future of our country depends on it.
