Donald Trump is on the verge of orchestrating one of the most spectacular political comebacks in American history, and he has President Biden’s border blunders to thank for it. As the southern border resembles a scene from a chaotic disaster movie, droves of Americans are starting to realize just how bad it can get under Biden’s administration—prompting a longing for the days when Trump’s firm stance on immigration kept things in check.
While Biden’s border policies look like they were scribbled on a napkin during a brunch date with open-border activists, Trump’s hardline strategies were loud and clear. With walls going up and illegal crossings going down, Trump’s era now appears like a golden age of border security. It’s no wonder that many who once shrugged off Trump as a political relic are now rallying behind him, hoping to bring back the “good old days” of a secure border.

This debacle at the border might as well be Biden’s gift-wrapped campaign contribution to Trump. As Kamala Harris busies herself with photo-ops and cryptic statements, and as Biden himself seems to be in a perpetual state of confusion, Trump is sitting back and letting the incompetence of his opponents speak louder than any campaign ad ever could.
Americans are tired of watching their leaders fumble through issues with clear solutions. Amidst the waves of illegal crossings and the overflowing detention centers, Trump’s previous policies now look like the wise counsel of a border wizard. His no-nonsense approach is now being fondly remembered as the era when America knew how to handle its borders and didn’t need to debate the basics of national security.
With each passing failure from the current administration, Trump’s potential return seems plausible and inevitable. Biden’s border bungling might turn out to be the biggest booster for Trump’s comeback, proving that sometimes, doing nothing can be the best campaign strategy of all—especially when your opponent is busy dismantling their own support.
