Biden’s Censorship Crushed: Court Upholds Free Speech Online

It looks like the Biden administration just can’t catch a break! In a major blow to their control over online content, a federal appeals court has upheld a preliminary injunction that restricts federal agencies from pressuring social media platforms to engage in censorship. You heard that right, folks – the Biden team can’t go around bullying Twitter and Facebook into silencing conservative voices anymore!

This ruling comes as part of the Missouri v. Biden case, where the federal government’s overreach in controlling online content was being challenged. Well, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has spoken loud and clear – the FBI, CDC, and even the White House press secretary must keep their grubby hands off our social media. They are not allowed to coerce or pressure these platforms to remove or suppress any posts that contain protected free speech. Freedom of expression is finally being protected!

The court’s decision also highlights just how deep the censorship rabbit hole goes. Apparently, in 2021 and 2022, social media companies were quick to comply with the FBI’s requests to take down content. They removed posts in a whopping 50% of the cases flagged by the FBI. Talk about a chilling effect on free speech! It’s no wonder conservatives have been feeling silenced and marginalized.

But hold on a minute, there’s a catch. The court did remove some agencies and individuals from the injunction, including the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). This agency is supposed to protect the United States from cyber threats, yet they were actively engaging with social media platforms to discuss ways to combat “foreign influence actors.” Can you believe the audacity? They should be focused on protecting our country, not playing thought police on Twitter!

Critics, of course, are disappointed with the court’s decision to exempt the CISA. Former State Department official Mike Benz called it “utter insanity,” and editor-in-chief Tracy Beanz expressed her disappointment as well. But let’s face it, when it comes to protecting free speech and reining in government overreach, sacrifices have to be made. The court made the right call in limiting the power of federal agencies to manipulate social media platforms.

So, to all the conservatives out there who have been shadow-banned, fact-checked, and labeled as “misinformation spreaders” by big tech, take heart. The tide is turning, and our voices will no longer be silenced. It’s a victory for free speech and a smackdown to the Biden administration’s attempt to control the narrative. Let freedom ring!
