The Biden administration recently announced a new set of regulations aimed at combating climate change. Unsurprisingly, these measures have been met with a mixture of eye-rolls and disbelief from conservative circles. One can’t help but wonder if the administration is trying to turn the whole country into a wannabe eco-friendly utopia straight out of a college campus seminar.
The regulations, which include sweeping mandates on emissions standards and increased funding for renewable energy, sound more like a desperate attempt to placate the Green New Deal enthusiasts than anything resembling common sense. The administration appears to be so focused on pleasing the environmental left that it seems to have forgotten about the economic realities facing everyday Americans. As gas prices continue to soar, the last thing hardworking families need is to be hit with more costs in the name of saving the planet.

With the pursuit of renewable energy taking center stage, one could say that the administration is determined to shove windmills and solar panels down the collective throat of the nation. More funding for these initiatives might sound great in theory, but as history has shown, government-sponsored renewable ventures often lead to financial boondoggles that do little more than line the pockets of advocates and bureaucrats. Those cozy subsidies may be viewed as a lifebuoy for the struggling clean energy sector, but they are just another way to redistribute taxpayer money into projects that often end up gathering dust.
The irony of promoting “clean energy” while disregarding the average American’s utility bill is just too rich to ignore. While washing down their kale salads and sipping on overpriced oat milk lattes, leftist elites pilfer from the working class to fund their climate fantasy. Meanwhile, they seem blissfully unaware of the fact that utility costs significantly affect those on fixed incomes and low-wage workers. If only the administration could focus on how to lower energy costs instead of placing undue burdens on the very people they claim to want to help.
As the bureaucratic machine churns out these new regulations, one can only speculate about how much more inflationary pressure they will bring to the economy. The Biden administration loves to call for unity and collective action, yet its policies seem to create ever-widening divide between working-class Americans and governance that puts environmental ideals on a pedestal. Instead of prioritizing American families’ needs, the administration appears ready to do anything to fulfill a leftist agenda—even if it means sacrificing the economic stability of the nation.
