Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) has once again resorted to its weaponization tactics by blocking former President Donald Trump from disclosing classified documents and evidence related to Jack Smith’s classified documents case. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart has also supported the move of the weaponized DOJ in issuing a protective order that bars Trump from disclosing specific evidence in the politically motivated classified documents case. However, Trump will continue to have limited access to the documents.

Magistrate Judge Reinhart strictly ordered that the public, media, or any social media platform should not disseminate the Discovery Materials without the United States’ approval or consent by the Court. Moreover, Reinhart added that Trump could only access Discovery Materials in the presence of defense counsel or the latter’s staff member, and retaining copies of such material is strictly prohibited.
According to The Hill’s report, the recent order passed only permits Trump to see the evidence, including classified documents, in the presence of his attorneys. It also stops him from disseminating any information from the case to reporters or via social media. This order mirrors similar actions taken in the hush-money case brought against him by authorities in New York.
The DOJ called for these restrictions as their ongoing investigation could result in additional arrests, and those documents’ disclosure could compromise open investigations or even implicate those not yet charged. In fact, a majority of registered voters view the indictment of the former President as a “politically motivated” strategy to prevent him from returning to the White House as per a Harvard/Harris poll.
A federal grand jury indicted Trump last week on 37 counts relevant to classified documents deposited in Mar-a-Lago. Within 24 hours of the indictment, Trump raised over $7 million, which has now reached over $6.6 million, according to a statement released by the Trump campaign. Yet, Biden’s DOJ seems to have no qualms attacking Trump even after his presidency.
