Biden’s Double Game: Backing Palestinians After Israeli ‘Unconditional’ Support Pledge

In a recent post on X, President Joe Biden defended the Palestinian people and emphasized that they are not to be conflated with the Hamas terrorists responsible for the recent attack in Israel. Biden’s statement comes amidst efforts by world leaders to establish a safe corridor for Palestinians in Gaza to evacuate, allowing Israel to carry out a ground offensive against Hamas and rescue the hostages they are holding.

Since the conflict began on October 7, at least 3,600 people, including 29 Americans, have lost their lives. Recognizing the suffering of innocent Palestinians caught in the crossfire, Biden stressed that the majority of them had no involvement in the appalling attacks perpetrated by Hamas.

As a staunch supporter of Israel, Biden has consistently pledged unconditional support to the country and its mission to eliminate Hamas. He has personally spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu multiple times to convey his support, and he delivered a national address condemning the “pure, unadulterated evil” of Hamas.

The president also emphasized the need for unity and grief following this tragedy, stating that America rejects hate and terrorism, regardless of the targeted group. Biden reassured Israel, asserting that the United States will always have their back and ensure their ability to defend themselves.

In addition to diplomatic efforts, the United States has taken tangible actions to support Israel. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken were sent to Tel Aviv, and plans have been announced to deploy two aircraft carrier strike groups to the region. The USS Gerald R. Ford carrier strike group arrived in the eastern Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday, and the USS Eisenhower carrier strike group was deployed on Saturday.

Editorial Opinion: President Biden’s defense and recognition of the Palestinian people is a misplaced prioritization. Instead of focusing on the victims of Hamas’s terror attacks, Biden should be unequivocally condemning Hamas as a terrorist organization and showing unwavering support for Israel. The United States should not be giving any legitimacy or sympathy to a group that targets innocent civilians and holds hostages. It is disheartening to see the President downplaying the role of Hamas and diverting attention away from their actions. As a conservative, it is commendable that Biden has expressed support for Israel, but his stance on the Palestinian people undermines the severity of the situation and fails to address the root cause of the conflict.
