Biden’s Economic Strategy Leads to Increased National Gas Prices

Once again, Biden’s America blesses us with soaring gas prices—proving that the only thing thinner than his hairline is his administration’s economic strategy. Gas prices have increased consecutively for the third day this week, much like the never-ending list of failures from the current administration. The national average now stands at $3.544 per gallon for regular gas according to AAA, a slight bump from yesterday’s $3.538. Overall, this translates to almost four cents more per gallon since Monday, when gas prices were already pinching American wallets at $3.506.

Mississippi takes the crown for the ‘cheapest’ gas prices, a dubious honor considering even they have exceeded the $3 mark at $3.009 per gallon. The magnanimous California, doing what it does best, leads the pack with the country’s most expensive gas, now at a staggering $4.778 per gallon. Maybe it’s all those extra fees for “eco-friendly” initiatives that surely won’t see daylight for another decade.

Gas prices vary widely from state to state, as always, a testament to the disparity in local governance and tax policies. Washington, D.C., never failing to remind us why it’s the swamp, saw its gas prices sit at $3.709 on Thursday, down by a whole three cents from the previous day. For those keeping score at home, Washingtonians were paying $3.678 per gallon a month ago. Remember folks, these are the people who set national policies.

Virginia’s residents are feeling the burn too, with gas prices inching up to $3.477 per gallon on Thursday. Yesterday, they could have filled up for $3.467—a whole penny saved could’ve possibly gone towards their next cup of overpriced coffee. Last month, Virginians paid $3.333, and a year ago, it wasn’t much different at $3.348—certainly enough consistency to make one nostalgic for the days of self-reliant energy policies.

In Delaware, the first state to ratify the Constitution, gas prices seem to ratify a pattern of inflation. On Thursday, Delawareans faced an average of $3.553 per gallon, up from Wednesday’s $3.514. Last week it was $3.46 per gallon, and a month ago, $3.424. Simple math shows a persistent hike, nothing surprising from the home state of our current commander-in-chief.

Over in Maryland, gas prices weren’t shy either. The average cost for regular gas on Thursday was $3.631, up from $3.618 just the day before. A week ago, the price stood at $3.577, and a month ago, it was slightly more bearable at $3.526. Compare this to the $3.574 per gallon from a year ago, and it’s clear Marylanders see no relief in sight, likely reflecting the effectiveness of voting blue time and again.

The ongoing rise in gas prices serves as just another reminder: the policies from up top often come with a kick in the gas for ordinary Americans.
