It seems like Joe Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm is taking after her boss when it comes to cozying up to the Chinese government. A recent report reveals that Granholm held not one, but two secret meetings with the Chinese Communist Party. And what happened just days after these meetings? The Biden administration decided it was the perfect time to announce their plan to release America’s strategic oil reserves.
The timing of these events raises some serious eyebrows. Did the Chinese government have a hand in influencing this decision? It certainly seems possible. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers is one of the many concerned individuals who question the Biden team’s priorities. She rightly points out that instead of focusing on the needs of the American people, Granholm was more interested in consulting with the Chinese Communist Party.

But it doesn’t stop there. Under Granholm’s leadership, the Department of Energy has sold millions of barrels of oil from our strategic reserves to China – the world’s biggest polluter. It’s ironic that while Democrats claim to care about climate change, they are willing to help China, a country notorious for its disregard of environmental regulations, by providing them with our resources.
House GOP Majority Leader Steve Scalise is understandably frustrated by this blatant disregard for the American people. While the Biden administration was busy collaborating with the Chinese Communist Party to lower energy prices in China, hardworking Americans were left to bear the burden of soaring gas prices. It’s a classic case of “America last” under the Biden administration.
And Republicans across the board are expressing their concerns. Representative Mike Collins of Georgia rightly asks why China has more say in U.S. energy policy than the American people. Representative Nick Langworthy of New York sounds the alarm, calling the Biden administration’s relationship with China corrupt. And Representative John James of Michigan is deeply troubled by the administration’s prioritization of our adversaries’ interests over our own.
This is just one more example of the Biden administration’s questionable decision-making. Joe Biden and his cronies seem to have no problem cozying up to China, a country with a long history of human rights abuses, intellectual property theft, and economic manipulation. It’s time for the American people to ask themselves: Do we really want a president and an administration that prioritize the interests of our adversaries over our own? The answer should be a resounding “no.”
